Community Outreach

A mandatory component of our Competition Dance program and an optional, but recommended option for our Recreation Dancers, we not only love finding creative ways to give back to our surrounding communities, but also love challenging our students to advocate for a variety of causes & passions throughout the season.

  • Handmade Cards & Specialized Performances for Lyngblomsten Senior Care Center

  • Organization & Cleaning Help at Tubman

With the COVID-19 Pandemic changing procedures for multiple years, this yearly event has looked different starting in 2020. Students have made many handmade cards for the residents of Lyngblomsten, but could not perform in-person until 2023. Dancers filmed fun music videos to send to the residents to spread some cheer instead! We’re proud of the creativity despite a difficult situation and the passion to spread joy during the holiday season regardless of many obstacles.

Students prepared handmade cards and a special holiday-themed dance routine to perform for the residents at Lyngblomsten, December 2023

Dancers aided in organization, decorating and general house-keeping tasks for the NorthStar Youth Outreach Center of Tubman as well as the basement of the Maplewood location of Tubman

Student Mentorship

Dancers were invited to Coffee Talks with Rachel, a program designed to meet kids one-on-one to discuss goals, fears, hopes or silly stories! Ms. Rachel bought each kiddo a coffee or treat and spent a bit of time with each student who decided to partake in discussions, games or goal setting.
